Large Log Cabin, Cassiar, BC (Approx 100 Miles from Watson Lake, YT)

Trespassing Signs: The closed sign at the entrance to the Cassiar road, none on the building itself.

Patrolled: Yes....sorta. While this is outside the "townsite" of Cassiar, the area is currently being used by the BC government for various projects. There is a camp there where some people are working (unsure how many), so someone may stop you out of pure curiosity (it's not a place that is known for visitors considering its in the middle of nowhere). If they ask you to leave, please respect their wishes.

Personally Visited: Yes, May 31st, 2008

This cabin was one of the most interesting in the entire trip I think. It's like the owners just got up and left, and never looked back. It's creepy in a way, but this one was really interesting to explore. The back door was closed and locked, but the front door was unlocked. At first looking through the window we thought someone might have been living here, but after a closer look we realized it was actually abandoned so we went inside.

Back of Cabin

Side wall of cabin

Side wall showing bedroom window

Old fridge on the back porch

Vehicles and junk nearby.

Master bedroom. Here's where things seemed weird, this room looked so untouched, like someone just up and left.

Shirt laid out neatly on the bed. When I walked into this room, a squirrel with sleeping on the bed, and we sorta scared each other!

Typewriter and.... I'm not sure what that is. This is the closet in the master bedroom.

Master bed with books still on the shelves.

Second bedroom, I'm guessing for a girl.

Teen mags and a teddy bear.

Bathroom. Nice color of the toilet lol.

Inside the kitchen area

BOO!  I had fun playing with this.

Calendar with the date on it. Probably the last time anyone was there...

Cook stove and wood stove in the kitchen.

Living room area

Big box of Microwave recipe books

Old record player and stereo.

Very pretty picture on the wall, it was like 3D cause the leaves and the little roof were actually leaves and tin. It was so neat.

2nd bedroom, almost empty.

Junk on the shelf in the 2nd bedroom

Stairs to the basement. Pitch black down there, so we chickened out and didn't go down there.

Old bus seats on the front porch. A really nice place to sit...

....Because the view form there is fantastic!
