THE GOLDEN NUGGET
Built in 1960 the
Golden Nugget ran for many years on Hunt's Pier in Wildwood, NJ.
Later the pier was sold and changed to Dinosaur Beach. It closed a few years
later
until the Morey Organization bought the pier in 2000 hoping to restore the
Nugget. The
problem was that it would cost anywhere from 3 to 5 million dollars. On Jan 31,
2009 they had the farewell before it is taken down. It was the last ride left on
the
old Hunts Pier. Some of the other rides on Hunts Pier were the Flyer roller
coaster,
Ghost Town, Jungle Land, The Pirate Ship Skua and many more. At one time Hunt's
Pier was the main pier in Wildwood, NJ. Thanks to William D. "Bud" Hunt
